July Stamp Club cards

I know I'm so late posting these. I thought I'd have so much time this summer to do my blog with the kids out of school. Didn't work out that way. So now the kids are in school, and life has gotten busy, but at the same time, I do have free time now. :) So, here are the cards we made at my July Stamp Club.
This one was a total case from the catalog. Great ideas in there I tell you!

Card #2 uses my new favorite punch, the scallop punch.

I also copied this card idea, but I really don't remember where I saw it. Sorry!

Craft Show Goodies

Here are some items I'm working on for some upcoming craft shows. I used the new Stampin' Up! paper called Cherise. LOVE IT! These covered notebooks will also have a coordinating RSVP pen. I plan to use more of the new wonderful paper from Stampin' Up! as well.

I also just love this hostess set. It's called Sidekick sayings. Fun set to use as well. Look for more items with this set for sure. Here's a bunch more I've done. My goal is 75 of these little guys. Fortunately, the crafts shows don't start until September.

Contest to enter

Here's a great contest for you guys to enter. I know it's a little off topic, but if you are drowning in paper, this can be for you. It's call a Neat Receipts Scanner. You can scan in and organize all your paper receipts. Makes keeping track of your tax and personal (or business) finances. And, you can scan in recipes, kids art, etc. to email to others, print and just keep forever! So, visit their website and watch the demo. Then visit 5 Minutes for Mom blog and enter to win one! How cool would that be? I know I'm going to enter. I would LOVE to be organized like that.

Edited to add, contest over. I didn't win either. :(

Seems like forever

I'm a bad Blogger I know. It's been forever since I last posted. I do appologize, but since the kids got out of school, it's been very busy. I've seen the dentist, orthodontist, Ear, Nose and Throat Doctor and Eye Doctor's offices more time than I'd like. Now, it seems like Jeremy (my oldest) needs vision therapy! YIKES. But, this should help him learn to read better. It's just more trips to the Eye Doctor.

I promise to post new items soon. My friend Judy and I are gearing up for our craft shows!

Monogramed Purses

My friend Judy and I do craft shows and special orders. Here are some monogramed purses we're doing for a special order. We'll probably do some for our fall craft shows as well. Aren't they just cute? We used our cuttlebug embossing folders to emboss the color parts. There is a set of 5 matching notecards and envelopes inside.
(If you notice the brad in the center of the flower, it's the new rhinestone circle brads from Stampin' Up! They will be available in the new catalog beginning July 1.)

Schools Out for the Summer!

Yipee! All my kids are done with school. Here's a little project I did for my son's 1st grade teacher. I got the idea from Papercrafts Magazine. My new favorite paper crafts magazine! Tons of great ideas.

New Cuttlebug!

Hello all! Sorry about not posting. My kids all decided to get sick in a 2 week period. They are all now healthy and after a week of trying to get organized, I think life is back to normal! So, since my last post, I got a lot of new birthday goodies! A Cuttlebug and a new digital camera. Another reason for not posting is trying to figure out my new camera! I think I know what I'm doing now, so here are some cards I made with my new Cuttlebug using the Birthday Embossing folder. I also used Stampin' Up! paper and the set Eat Cake!

Wild Rose

Here are some cards I made straight from the Wild Rose Inpsiration sheet. I have no idea why I didn't start using all my sheets. They are fabulous. So quick and easy and with all the directions, it's a no brainer. And, the cards turn out so great. I don't think I would have come up with these designs on my own. I think the cool thing about the second card, is I only used one color to do the 2 step stamping. First, I inked the Rose with Perfect Plum ink, stamped on scrap paper, then onto Very Vanilla. Then the outline image was Perfect Plum on top. Same technique with the leaves with Always Artichoke ink. So, if you want to use your 2 step stamps with one ink color, this is a great way to do that!

Too Darn CUTE!

So, since my kids are all sick today, I was off to Walgreens to stock up on medicine. I was walking through the magazine section when I spotted this magazine called Stamp It! It's the Spring 2007 issue. I started looking and saw this adorable purse box with matching notecards. I just had to buy the magazine and come home and make it. Mine is a little different, but close. I used the Paisley stamp from the Polka Dots & Paisley stamp set with Versamark ink on the Pretty in pink cardstock. Then I stamped the K from my Headline alphabet set and framed the letter with the stamp from Lable Classics. I just think this is cute. The purse easily holds 6 note cards and 6 envelopes!

Polka Dots & Paisley

Here's a card I made playing around with some new stuff. I used the Jumbo Petals Wheel from the Spring Mini for the background with Pretty in Pink Ink. Then I stamped the flower from the Polka Dot & Paisely stamp set using Pretty in Pink, So Saffron and Taken with Teal Markers. I used Old Olive for the stem. I added these cute little Rhinestones I found in the Dollar section at my local JoAnn's.

I have a bunch of new stamps and accessories coming soon, so I hope to be able to play soon! In the meantime, if you have a card you'd like to see me post on my blog, please email it to me in jpeg format! I'd love to showcase your work.

Circle Punch Card

Here's a very cool card idea that my downline Judy shared with me. I did vary it a bit. I used different size circle punches to punch out the different colors. I used Appricot Appeal, Certainly Celery and Lavender Lace, and mounted them on black cardstock. Then I used my Souffle gel pens to outline each circle. Then I used the Word Window punch to punch out a piece of Appricot Appeal and took the letters from Alphabits to make the "thanks" part. It is a super cool card!

Simple Scrappin' Cards

I just love using the Simply Scrappin' kits to create quick and easy cards. Here are a few examples using the Party Pieces Kit. I have been able to create 60 cards from this one kit, with the edition of 30 sheets of colored cardstock for the bases! I even have sticker left over and cardstock to make 2- 6x6 scrapbook pages! This will be one of the options for my upcoming Stamp camp in April.

I like it a Latte!

I received this set from Stampin' Up! as my Sales incentive set! I just had to play with it today. The base cardstock is Chocolate Chip. Then I layered on a piece from the Loves Me designer series paper (dots). The turqouise dots is the reverse of the white dots. I stamped the cup with Close to Cocoa ink, as well as the marshmellows and the steam. The words are stamped with Chocolate Chip ink. I used the ticket corner punch to do the corners, and then layered on Rose Romance paper! I also used my new Souffle pens from Sakura to color in the marshmellows white. You can't see from the scan, but it makes the puff up a bit. I Like It A Latte!

Milk Carton

This a a cute little Milk carton made from 1 sheet of Whisper White cardstock. I used the "dot" from the Hostess set Riveting to stamp the spots. The cow is from the Sell-a-bration set Very Punny. I added some Black Grosgrainto seal the top with a staple.

Mini Chocolate Purses!

How cute are these? For those that attended my stamp camp, you know what they are! So, here are the directions. First, cut a piece of cardstock (I used the Loves Me paper) 1 3/8 inches by 4 1/2 inches. You can just snip the corners on one end to make it look like the tag, or feed the paper strip through the large tag punch to punch the ends. (Make sense?) Then, score from the punched end at 3/4", 1", 2 1/4" and 3 1/4". Fold on score lines. I used the grosgrain ribbon cut to about 4" and put some SNAIL adhesive on the back side between the 3/4 and 1" score lines. Then, from the Loves Me paper, I punched out the cute little circles with my 3/4" circle punch. Put those on the front with a mini glue dot. I also used a mini glue dot to keep the Hersheys Nuggets chocolate in place. Then just fold up and stick shut!

Grosgrain Ribbon Dyeing

Have you ever found yourself searching for a color of grosrain ribbon to match your project, but just can't find the exact color? Well, today, I was searching for grosgrain that matches one of my favorite colors, Perfect Plum. The colors seemed to be either too purple, too blue, or just not right! So, of course I can just take regular old white grosgrain and use my re-inker to make it right. Off to Splitcoaststampers.com to find out how to do this. There is a wonderful tutorial written by Amy Rysavy. Here's a link to the tutorial.

Now, after much trial and error to get the right tone, I ended up using 15 sprays of water, 15 drops of Perfect Plum re-inker and one drop of Chocolate Chip re-inker to do about 2 yards of ribbon. The chocolate chip really took the "purple" and made it more plum. This ribbon matches almost perfectly with the Enchante Designer Series Paper! (the paper in it that's the dark plum on one side and the bolder flowers on the other side).

Eat Cake

My twins birthday is next month, so I've been working on their party invites. Their favorite colors are Purple (Lauren) and Orange (Sean). So, trying to make that work, I got out my Color Coach and tried to find orange and purple that didn't look horrible together. This is what I came up with. I used Apricot Appeal for the base. I used my markers to ink the cake with Certainly Celery and Lavender Lace, then stamped on Shimmery White cardstock. I used the Ticket punch to notch the corners, then layered on Certainly Celery. I used my new Crop-o-dile tool to punch out and set Lavender Lace eyelets, then mounted on LL cardstock. It's hard to tell from the picture, but I did stamp the background design using Apricot Appeal ink on the AA cardstock.

Change can be good!

Happy Sunday everyone! Just a quick post to let you know that Stampin' Up! has announce some changes to their catalog program. The new program includes releasing a new Idea Book & Catalog twice a year instead of once a year. Beginning July, 2007, Stampin" Up! will got to a semi-annual catalog. That catalog will run through December 2007, and a new catalog will be released January 2008! The mini catalog program is also changing. There will only be 2 mini catalogs, a Holiday mini from September 2007-November 2007, and than an Occasions Mini catalog from March 2008-May 2008. There will still be a Sell-a-bration, however it will not be next January! That date is TBA.

Each catalog will be 208 pages. There will be new Hostess sets in each catalog! And, 2 retiring lists as well. This proves to be an exciting time. It allows Stampin' Up! to release new and up to date products more quickly! More information will be coming out I'm sure, but this is the latest info I have.

Polka Dots & Paisley

This is a new set that has not be out yet. It will be in the Spring 2007 Mini Catalog. It was a gift from Stampin' Up! to all their demonstrators in December! How cool is that? So, I've been playing around with it and decided I love it! There are other stamps in the set too! I also tried a new color combination, thanks to seeing this card on Splitcoast Stampers. Sage Shadow and Chocolate Chip. I would never had put those two together, but I think it looks nice! I also used my new favorite punch, the Ticket Corner. Enjoy!

Enchante Lunchbox tin

Have I told you how much I love the new Enchante Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up!? Here's a lunchbox tin I did with this paper. I selected this design because I thought it would make a great gift, filled with handstamped cards.
